The sad tale of Corpsewade
Fantastic unique all around, supplementary clear tool for poison builds and could even become the main aspect of your character if you added minions and invested a bit into AoE. Incredibly fun mapping experience and with enough investment could even do high endgame content (though patches of burning ground, which can also be caused by rare mobs, would nuke the build almost entirely, rendering simulacrum a very "good or horrible" experience.
Enter 0.2: Gas clouds reworked, they now have a limit and its shared globally. This means no more gas grenade + corpsewade, no more clouds on every dead enemy, you get the idea. Its damage scaling was also gutted for numerous reasons, nerfs from every angle: Minion hp nerfs, dot nerfs, and decompose nerfs. The result? The item is now worthless, no one wants to (or better put, can) build around it. Theres no build showcases, no theory crafts, almost 0% usage on poe2 ninja. Hell, if you search the word "corpsewade" on forums and discord theres not even mentions of the item, it is gone. There was ONE build made by eastern players on bilibili that used beiras and corpsewade to proc explosions, but the damage was mostly from ignites. And as you may expect, it works in a way that is almost guaranteed to be "fixed" the next patch. Its also barely similar. [Removed by Support] Последняя редакция: SkilloSkillo#0062. Agree, I think the nerf needed was the poison stacks (limit it to 1 or 2). Rangers abused it, while other builds would use it without being OP. Item offered huge defensive layer by disposing corpses as well, gone now.
beside the nerfs, this unique is bugging out for me, majority of corpses just wont pop, no matter how long i wait since the last pop, i have to move few screens away and when i come back, the same corpses that wouldn't pop now pop. Then you have the whole XP issue (was that ever fixed?). The item was practically removed from the game. |
