Improve "Finding the Forge" Quest Reward
When you return the smithing tools to Renly to complete "Finding the Forge" quest, it only unlocks the Salvage Bench. I think the quest reward should also include Renly giving the player a choice to pick one artisan cache shown below to be a more impactful quest reward during the campaign.
Depending on which cache the player chooses, it will drop one rare martial weapon, one rare spellcaster weapon, or one rare armour. They also contain a few corresponding quality currencies. ![]() Quest Reward - Choose Only One: Blacksmith's Cache * Drops 1 Rare Martial Weapon * Drops 1-2 Blacksmith's Whetstones Arcanist's Cache * Drops 1 Rare Wand, Staff or Sceptre * Drops 1-2 Arcanist's Etchers Armourer's Cache * Drops 1 Rare Armour * Drops 1-2 Armourer's Scraps Последняя редакция: CharlesJT#7681. I'm surprised people don't want more meaningful quest rewards. I think this quest specifically could introduce new players to quality currency to improve their equipment.

While I wouldn't want a system that encourages farming campaign quest loot, I recently completed a new character and really felt like all those quest rewards were kinda measly. Like the campaign is already not really a challenge for people who know what they're doing, and then they just make the newbs slog it out. It seems unnecessarily cruel.
To spin off the original topic a bit, I also think currency drops in general are pretty weak for campaign. I like that there's a lot of depth available for whoever wants to get deep into the practice of crafting/marketing gear, but there's not enough opportunity for experience in campaign. Lower tier currencies should drop a bit more often in campaign and then by maps they should be less often but in small stacks to compensate. Definitely don't want to overtune and make them too scarce in end-game ofc, but it would be nice if trans/aug held a bit more value and were a bit more specialized towards lower level areas, to encourage new players to learn trading and crafting (albeit at low levels), as well as encourage people to sell campaign gear because they want the currency. Also regal shards could probably use a very minor bump for recycling. |
