GLANCING DEFLECTION!!! Clarifications please.....

Maybe this would help for avoiding certain deaths from critical hits.

46% increased Deflection Rating is a big help especialy if used with a mixed Armour and Evasion build. Also some addable Heatproofing gems can make hits look like feathers touch.

But how it actually works???

What I am hoping with Deflection is I can forego armor and ES and stack up Evasion. At least this is the impression I got from the livestream. But the patch notes doesn't make it clear whether my understanding is correct.

yea baby, gimme more of that and take my soul!!! I waited a long time to see such an implementation and to be honest i still doupt if it works like it promises as an enhanced evasion rule.

If it works like Armour rating then you need a ton of Evasion Rating to succesfull mitigate some significant amount of damage. But let's say you use 50% evasion rating wich is almost 4k.

From 400 incoming damage is being mitigated the 180 damage. If you play with 2k Life is about 8% saving. Seems to me it will work only with high amounts of Evasion rating but surely can't pass unnoticed!
What I understood is that it work like a "sub-par" evasion but work on everything. The damage reduction isn't 100% like an evasion but only 40% (we don't know yet if we can change this number but it's the base). More deflect mean more chance to deflect an attack (work like evasion) and can reach 100% chance with enough evasion rating.

So no, it isn't like armor at all.

+ the fact that now Dex can scale your health and stun threshold (on the passive tree), a full dex/evasion build seems viable. Well, at least, it's an improvement.

Your calculations are wrong becouse the percentage is 46%. So if it works like Armour rating then its almost 4% damage reduction.

We will see in 7 days.
We will see. I don't count on this feature. But it's a start fro Ranger/Mage classes and depends of how many nodes are placed in Passive tree and the mechanism that deflect damage. If it works like Armour then it needs way to big amount of EV rating to work properly.
Seems to me that it will work just as Armour rating. There was not time for implementing new mechanism ideas with such a ton of changes and new content.

The hope comes if more nodes are added to the P.tree otherwise it will need top evasion gears to support the glancing deflection.

Only for those who use Evasion on equipment. Both cannot bring the desired results.

Also, if the developers added more passives, they would definitely be located away from the Merc area at the back of the Ranger area, which would actually be inaccessible...

Prepare testing a lot the P.tree nodes.
With a ton of new content it's obvious that we need hints and clarifications. Another example that need a video for more info.
