Is it unreasonable that I'm frustrated in getting refused when asking for a supporter pack 'swap'?

First and foremost, I understand ultimately this is my fault. I didn't do my 100% due diligence when making a purchase, but people make mistakes. Not that I'm entitled to anything due to this, but as you can see from my forum emblems, I'm a large supporter of the game.
The situation at hand is, I purchased the $30 tier of each of the new supporter packs ($60 total), which were released just yesterday, and I've decided after thought that I'd like to, instead, allocate things towards a $60 pack of one tier. I've asked support if this can be done, and I get the response: "I've had a look into this for you and unfortunately, this is not something that we are able to do. I'm sorry if this was not the answer you were hoping for." I get it, if it were an issue with the system, but I'm very certain this isn't that. Taking cosmetic items away from accounts is certainly feasible - we've seen this in the form of MTX refunds, back into points. I've seen this firsthand. Granting supporter pack items is certainly feasible - I have firsthand done this on several occasions, purchasing points first with gift cards, which then get converted into supporter packs. It just makes me so utterly frustrated that what's stopping this request is that "I'm not allowed to" - am I insane for thinking it's such a reasonable request? I mean I just made these purchases yesterday. And again, I'm not entitled due to it, but my receipts (past supporter pack purchases) show that I'm a supporter of the company. I'd hope that they'd at least attempt to help me out here. I'm not actually making this post to vent, I actually want to know if you guys might think I'm the one who is unreasonable here, as I'd love to stop being bitter about this situation. i don't think anyone is unreasonable here. they have some reason for why they wont do it, you have a reason to ask for it. now how frustrated you are would depend on what role you take here, you say you consider yourself a supporter, so supporting them monetarily but then causing issues to them (clearly this swap is an issue for them for w/e reason) might take away from that support. now if you would think of yourself as a customer your perception of this would change, altho i doubt the end result will. so its just how you look at it. but yeah i don't get why they making a fuss over it, maybe to discourage it? they might be dealing with volumes they aren't capable of handling yk, and they stated they want to keep their team small

This information gets mentioned on Supporter Packs overview four times, specifically between each category of Supporter Packs.
" https://www.pathofexile.com/purchase While I think it's completely reasonable to still ask if it's possible, I also think to expect them to just do it because you consider it an easy task or because you justify it with your previous purchases is a stretch simply because the rule is mentioned on the purchase page. If I had to guess the rule is likely in place as a blanket rule because of the physical goods? I'm sure they have their reason. |
