0 Revives at 6 mod map it's bad
Early we have 3 mods positive and 3 negative with 0 revives at 6 mods, it's ok.
But now we have t17 mods,6 negatives and 0 revives. I think this changes make me and other player leave game faster. In PoE1 with same mods we can lost map because content is hard, in PoE2 we must done this with 1 portal. Again GGG wanna suffering and hate from players. Nice job. PoE2Bad #PoE2Bad? Hard to say where difficulty will fall for upper-end content with all the new currency, gems, and balance changes, league mechanics and such. But I think they did mention, maybe in the patch notes, that Map Mods values are being adjusted because you can get up to 6 on a map now instead of the 3. It's hard to see the big picture through the limited lenses of the presentation, their QnA, and the patch notes. So we'll just have to see how it plays out at league start when people start hitting true end-game content.
Also, it's all about risk/reward. If the risk is too great don't take it. You get to choose your difficulty, no one is forcing you to run content you can't sustain. Some people like suffering and like having an option to do so in-game. No one is making you chase level 100, for example. Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.

the 0 revives was OK only because you only needed 3 mods on a map so you had 1-2 revives for free. hell more than free, because map would get 'harder' for no benefit to you and would give you less portals if you already had 3 prefixes. tldr- map mods were borked
I say 'harder' because adding damage to mobs doesn't make the content harder, its just increases the chances of you getting one shot. Would they replace the pure +# damage mods on maps with chaos trial mechanics yes this would make the maps 'harder' - the current map mod system is old/boring and shit considering we already have ways to get content more interesting but i agree that there is some double dipping with juicing maps to make them harder and at the same time turning them into HC maps.... where in actual HC ppl run blue maps... very very odd |

Yeah I'm still not sold on not getting 6 portals. Not my biggest complaint so far but it will matter more with the waystone change. I'm cool with trying it more and seeing how they adjust it, but I am partial to my 6 portal defense as a softcore Andy.

Still holding out hope that they stop trying to bandaid this massive wound they call an endgame system. Cut it out and start fresh, it's bad in almost every way.

I'm not a big fan of the revive limits, but I can live with it. (Pun intended)
Hitting the full 6 mod limit does have a cost. I can just invest less into a map and still get 1-2 Lives just in case something goes sideways. The way the system is right now, if I wanna run something high risk, that's on me. I'd prefer if they didn't have any negative progression in the game, especially with how much one-shots are in the game. That got me to quit PoE2 real fast last year. It was worse, and is getting better. The best band-aid they could put on it right now, is a "Scarab" that adds 1-3 portals. If people want to be punished and waste their time, Hard Core is right there. At least softcore is looking more like softcore these days. |
