Slam, evasion, troll?

Bosses with slam mechanics will one shot evasion/armor. There are some mobs that dive in with slams as well.

Many of these slam mechanics, specifically from bosses- are very difficult to predict. This causes, at least me, to find myself switching to very non-interactive boss fighting styles. Completely different to how I clear maps.

Maps I go in, dodge around, get in there.

Bosses I'm running in a circle at a distance and lobbing grenades. This specifically is regarding the... uh, bipedal bird that rages.

I think the main issue is I just can't tell where the slam is going, or what the hitbox is going to be until I'm dead. It also may be slightly unpredictable, I haven't really narrowed it down yet.

This is also against a +3 boss.

The big skeleton boss feels like this as well. He has that big one handed slam thing. Very difficult to tell where its actually going.


Another big one are the tombstone slammers. Then theres the teams of jumping mantis things, corruption slammers that behave like the gorilla slammers, the big vultures. If you get into a narrow area, you have to run for open ground or you die. All of these do bigger damage and operate in groups.

There are of course other things that have aoe, such as poison pools as so on. Most of that is easily manageable.

Things running at you mach 20 slamming, jumping with massive quick gap closers. A lot of them you can stand your ground and down them before they get to you.

If they get combined with warping, it can be a real instadeath issue. Especially if they have lighting strikes and corpse explosions, haste- LOL, it gets dumb. Something appears on you, you can see it, its slamming in the smoke, you're just done.

If this is the mechanic, I should just build straight armor.
