After reading the patch notes, not impressed or excited for 0.3
0.3 did little to undo the damage to the game dealt by 0.2
The changes to the game indicate an adversarial relationship between developer and player. Changes are being layered made to ensure players can't do specific things, rather than considering why the original design failed. Other changes are also layering needless complexity to existing mechanics, like "Flammability". This is not elegant design. I expect that these fundamental issues in the GGG design philosophy, which have metastasized recently, will lead to the game having less staying power once the new content veneer fades. Same but i kinda gave up on dooming, at least until week 2 of the new league (and only if i'm not having any fun ofc)
Been running chaos Witches up to act 3 and the game feels way much better than it did back at DOTH league start, even getting tons of currency, rares and walking through the bosses with slammed gear. I'm full on copium mode now, expecting tree changes and lv3 support gems to compensate for the massive wave of nerfs, still astonished by the lack of tower changes though. |
