Quest Item inventory

Hi there.

Dear GGG, I've just come across something that struck me as annoying and I beg that you consider looking into it, as I feel that this element of the game may be worth improving.

I've just entered the Abandoned Prison area in Act 4 on my second character and picked up the "Chapel Key" in the Prison.
Randomly, as is the nature of this lovely game, I found the zoning point to "Solitary Confinement" and proceed forth to that area.
Upon zoning, I've remembered that I've still had some other unexplored area on the upper level, namely "The Chapel", prompting me to exit the "Solitary Confinement" area.
After exiting, I ran straight to "The Chapel" gate and to my surprise I was missing the key that I've picked up earlier. Seeing how I've lost the key, I began backtracking until I found the key at the zoning point to "Solitary Confinement", at which it was dropped; or rather, spawned by the game.

Now to my problem with this.

From my own perspective as a player, this is completely unintuitive and silly.
Due to forgetting that Quest Items such as this key, get dropped to the floor upon zoning, I ignored the key while I was focused on my task, running off, making me lose time and adding frustration at no benefit to me whatsoever. It does not make me want to remember to pick up the key after "my character, for some reason or no reason at all, decided to drop it on the floor cuz ...eh...don't need it anyway!".
It's simply annoying, as the key should remain in my pockets after I've already invested the time to look for it and pick it up in order to progress in that area.

Having said that, please consider adding a seperate quest item inventory to the game, which automatically holds quest items like the "Chapel Key" in the Abandoned Prison area to prevent such nonsensical backtracking.

Just to underline what I mean.

If I enter a supermarket for example, the keys to my home don't just magically fall out of my pockets before I enter, just because I've decided to do this task now instead of some other, not requiring me to enter the store.

It's completely unintuitive.

I do not know if this behaviour is intended by you or not, but I politely ask that you think over the current implementation as to how Quest Items are being held and interacted with at the time of writing this post.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
