Make new character. Choose witch. Ascend Bloodmage. You're welcome.

-choose any single target skill or skill combo (hints: if it has a large AoE effect or chains, its likely not a single target dps skill, firewall improves the dps of skills with many projectiles / that are quick to cast)
-generate and spend infusions if your chosen skills requires them
-use support gems, the recommened once are usually fine if you pick the ones that increase your damage
-get a decent staff with +levels to the spells you've picked and +x% damage
-stack damage nodes on passive tree, either ignore crit for now or go for the +100% crit chance versus full hp enemies and +20% crit chance after kill nodes
