Unable to progress act 4/Excavation Quest/Character locked out of progression

My character is unable to progress to the main quest in act 4 where i need to defeat the first herald Benedictus.

What happened:

I died at last phase, revived at checkpoint.(First herald boss)

On revival, went to the boss battle area again.
Only character dialogue happens and a little cutscene (eartquake) then it skips, then stops as if nothing has happened.
Arena looks normal again.

Unable to progress to next event.
My character is locked out of the story progression, unable to continue.

Please help.

What i tried:

Restart at check point.
=did not help, same thing happens when entering the arena, (dialogue/cutscene)

Log in-out
=same as above


Character locked out of progression.
Please help.
