Best adaptivity character for SSF?

I looking for a class and ascendancy for SSF that has best adaptivity to drops abd loot you get. So it's easy to use any uniques you get and changing build without it giving me hard time.

I was thinking about Mercenary? Tree has lots of different nodes. Witchhunter has whole lot of skill points, Tactician can even do minions and Gemling just looks like he can do anything.

Also, should I do it hardcore for extra challenge?

I started with LA/rods amazon and practicaly rolled upto T15 without trading and minimum crafting. Died probably only on prince, but that should be managable if you already know the fight and his oneshot moves.

For HCSSF, i would pick LA/rods on tactician. You get extra CC tru pin and you can possibly add cold damage for extra freeze.

I get what you mean but that is not what im asking. I don't want to rely on one or two skills. What if i find a good mace? or a good wand? maybe some cool unique item. And so that my class and ascendancy would feel free to use it with minor tweaks.

I get what you mean but that is not what im asking. I don't want to rely on one or two skills. What if i find a good mace? or a good wand? maybe some cool unique item. And so that my class and ascendancy would feel free to use it with minor tweaks.

The point is you dont need to be lucky with LA. Its strong even with average/easily craftable gear.

Swapping build based on dropped gear is imho bad idea as armor is not easily changable as es, armor and evasion are on different sides of skilltree. Changing weapons is also problematic due to stat requirements and skills being tied to weapon type, so you will have to change skills with weapons.

I haven't tried playing all the classes yet let alone with off meta builds.

Gemling though is a very good all rounder from my limited experience since you can meet the stat requirements easily.

Titan is also a good option in my experience. The 150% increase in normal nodes gives you great freedom to travel around the skill tree.
I'm playing a Titan atm and am taking armour nodes on the far left of the tree and poison nodes on the far right.

The point for me is that i dont want to use just one skill. I want to depend on luck.
