0.30 The current gameplay is too boring.


Can we get a gameplay mode for an endless abyss? There should be no end inside, just one boss and a bunch of elites on each level. After defeating bosses for ten levels, there should be a large selection of prizes to choose from. It’s too boring to just keep opening maps and fighting bosses. I'm a level 95 lich and I can't continue playing anymore. Running around looking for bosses is too tedious.

I would like to argue what you are suggesting becomes boring too eventually. I would like your idea to be added though for variety but at the end of the day this won't resolve the boredom.

He's not far off from what many old time POE 1 players want. POE 1 is almost like that; just need a tiny bit of preparation and then you chain run maps (under 1 minute each) and pick up the divines from the spilled piñata.
abyss is already here so this isnt gonna happen, but i do like the idea of an endless abyss or whatever league it would be in.

something along the lines of you going deeper and deeper down
enemies getting harder/higher level as you descend
you just keep going down until you die
each floor would need to be somewhat short, certainly not map size.
could do something like zombies where waves of them come
could rotate through zone themed floors or element themed floors. cold, fire, lightning, chaos, later levels start doing lightning infused fire ect.

remove the thematic elements of abyss for a future league and all sorts of neat ideas could come of this concept.
could do something like heaven vs hell where two players are working in opposite directions and what one does effects the other

could be neat

But if the issue is boredom, how would this guarantee that it would resolve boredom? Again I like the idea but what I am arguing is that this will not resolve boredom. Players will still get bored with this mode.

you beat the game. congrats. make a new character and try something different this time.
I just preffer POE1 mapping, easy and you choose the map, you choose how hard to be and you choose the type of map. Here I hate so much maps with narrow corridors and very long, its too big for nothing and mobs aren't hard but the only risk to die its either one shot from God knows what or mobs have insane stun-freez-chill etc. Feel like completing acts and prologue then its done?

Yep. This is exactly what's gonna happen so it doesn't solve the original issue of boredom. I like the idea though.
