[PC] Error: Failed to join any instances (originally PS5 account)

Hello,

I'm having an issue entering the game world with my character after logging in on PC.

Issue Summary
• Account: My account email (can provide to staff only)
• Character Name: MHAries
• Platform: PC (GGG standalone client)
• Original Platform: PlayStation 5 (PSN account)
• League: The Third Edict

Problem Details

I recently purchased a PC key to play on my computer.

I can log in and see my character at the selection screen.

But when I try to enter the game, it shows "Contacting Server..." and then disconnects.

Error message: Failed to join any instances.

Troubleshooting Tried

Tried different servers (Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, etc.)

Reinstalled the game

Tried different networks

Verified game files

Cannot use /verify because I can't enter the game

Hold down the left Ctrl button while clicking to enter the game on the affected character.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on the character to enter the game, but unfortunately the same error still occurs:

"Abnormal Disconnection – Error: Failed to join any instances."

For additional context:

This character was originally created and used on PS5.

I recently purchased a PC key and installed the GGG standalone client.

After logging in, I can see the character on the selection screen, but it disconnects every time I try to enter the game world.

Just to confirm, I also have another account that was created and used on PS5, and that one works perfectly fine on PC, so the issue seems to be specific to this character or account only.

Apologies for not having specified; I'd actually wanted you to hold Ctrl while pressing "Play".

What happens if you try clicking on the 🏠 button for that character on the character selection screen?

Sorry — I forgot to clarify earlier: I’m playing Path of Exile 2, not PoE1.

In the PoE2 client, the character selection screen doesn’t have the 🏠 icon (Town/Hideout button) like in PoE1.

I also tried holding Ctrl while pressing "Play", but I still get the same error:

"Abnormal Disconnection – Error: Failed to join any instances."

It seems the character is stuck in a corrupted or broken zone. Would it be possible for a GM to manually reset the character's location or help with this issue?

My image is a screenshot of Path of Exile 2 - indeed, that button is exclusive to PoE 2.

Can you please post a screenshot of your character selection screen?

I'm having the exact same issue but switched from PC to Ps5. I can see my characters from my PC but can't login on Ps5. However it does work when I create a new char on Ps5.

I am having the same issue on PS5, where one character i cant play, and the other i can. Is there a fix for that?
