Ailments inflicted by Minions don't trigger Siphon Elements or Cast on Elemental Ailment

Hey guys,

I'm playing a bit of an off meta build, using Chober Chaber Leaden Greathammer and with a Spectre Minion build that also uses Demon Form and Elemental Spells from the Sorceress school of spells. And with the new Infusion Remnants implemented, I've looked for the best ways to stack gather Fire and Lightning Infusions in particular to fuel my Comets (that are triggered by cast on Minion death from Skeletal Warriors dying through Infernal Legion), my Firestorms and my Incinerates. One thing I looked into to generate those infusions for those spells is Siphon Elements. But ignites and other Ailments caused by my Minions don't trigger Siphon Elements at all. Because of my build and my Minions all my targets are ignited before I have a chance to ignite them myself. And thus this method is of generating infusions is pointless. And I think it shouldn't be. I think that Minion triggered Ailments should function (at least for the purposes of this spell) as if I had cause the Ailments myself, since Minions are the effective extension of my character and deal the majority of my damage.

It might be a bit of a me problem, since I'm playing a non-meta build that's designed to be cool first and efficient second. But the efficiency still needs to be there to some point even for a build like mine. And the way I see it, Minions generated Ailments should function with Siphon Elements as if I had made those Ailments.

One of the reasons I use Cast on Minion death is, because Cast on Elemental Ailment doesn't work with Minion triggered Ailments. Same as with Cast on Siphon Element. There is probably a balance reason for it that I'm not aware of, but unless it allows for some game breaking shenanigans, I don't see the harm in allowing Siphon Elements and Cast on Elemental Ailment to trigger on Minion Ailments. Or at the very least Siphon Elements. While I can imagine that Cast on Elemental Ailments could potentially cause problems with Minions, I can't imagine the same problems with Siphon Elements.

What do you guys think?

Also if you guys have any suggestions how to stack those Infusions, I'm all ears. Currently I'm using Ball Lightning with Lightning warp. But that goes a bit against the fantasy I had in mind for the build. And it often times warps me very much in harms way, which I hoped to avoid xD.
Oh jeez, thanks for your suffering, I made it 4 hours into a fresh start with the intent of going with a similar concept. I appreciate you sharing this so I can not waste my time, you're a life saver. Starved for a means to have hybrid active play while having a handful of minions that dont solely exist as a utility.
Oh don't get me wrong. The build still works sort of. As I said it's not a meta contender, nor is it very good compared to what's out there. It's supposed to be fun, fancy and cool first and foremost in principal and then it's supposed to be strong secondly. But ultimately it has to be strong as well, since I'm planing to do pinnacle content with it and +16 Irradiated uber juiced maps. And as of right now, it has still a lot of room to grow. But I feel like I still can grow and I haven't plateaued just yet.

There are just a few things in this build that make me feel like I'm pigeonholed into them. Like for example the Chober Chaber Leaden Greathammer that I need to use to deal any significant damage myself compared to my Minions. But in order to make the Minions work, I still need a Sceptre and a Rattling Sceptre at that. Thus I'm forced to take my walking stick, a bit of Lembas bread and go on a adventure from the Witch/Minion area all the way down to take Giant's Blood. Which then forces me to invest heavily into Attributes (even if I managed to grab a Chober Chaber that has a corruption that reduces the Int Requirement and increases the Spirit (slightly)). And then when I wanna use Demon Form on top (which you gotta have if you're going for a rule of cool build), then I need to invest into HP Regen, which cripples my resistances. Just today I solved the Elemental Resistances, but I still need to figure out how to get Chaos res in there, since that is just patched with Charms for now.

But all of that aside, those are just build crafting theory mechanics that I need to work out. But when it comes to the actual moment to moment gameplay, and to increase my own character damage I still need a way to generate tons of Infusions consistently. Especially Fire and Lightning Infusions with Cold Infusions being nice to have. And as of right now, the best way I got it to work is through Lightning Warp onto Ball Lightning. But even if I have 3 or 4 Fire Infusions, one cast of Ball Lightning eats them all up at once, same goes for on trigger of Comet. Thus I do really need to generate tons of them. And the issue with the Ball Lightning/Lightning Warp method is that it either only gives me Lightning Infusions or a Random Infusion using the Infusion Keystone. Since I need Fire Infusions most, I need the Keystone to have a chance of getting Fire Infusions. Other Methods of getting Fire Infusions have just not proven efficient enough. Snap has a Cooldown, and Living Bomb can only affect one (or two) targets at a time. Frost Bomb has a Cooldown, Orb of Storms takes too long to expire. Ultimately, only Snap with a metric ton of CDR (which I just don't have to space in my build to put in), Lightning Warp (which is random in terms of Infusion and dangerous) and Siphon Elements (which doesn't work with Minion Ailments and it costs Spirit reducing my minion Army), which are the only options I found as an Infernalist Witch.

So... here again... Any ideas how to make a Infernalist Minion/Fire Focused Elementalist Demon Form Build generate enough Infusions to consistently and constantly fuel my Comets, Fire Storms, Incinerates and Flame Walls (and potentially Ball Lightnings if I stick with that)?
