Darkness enthroned: You cannot use this item, its stats will be ignored

I have a darkness enthroned belt with "this item gains bonuses from socketed items as though it was boots" and just got boots with "increased effect of socketed items", once i equip the boots my darkness enthroned wont work anymore and it sais "You cannot use this item, its stats will be ignored", it doesnt have any stat requirements other than the level so Im confused why its not working is this intended? Both items have one rune with reduced movement speed penalty from skills and increased movement speed while on low life

Same issue here. Have a belt that "as though it was a helmet", could use it, but as soon as I socketed a gem (for helmets) into it, it's unusable for some reason. Already relogged, switched items back and forth, but nothing changes.
