Impale and Physical Spell Damage

Passive nodes at top of tree:

"Cut to the Bone" passive node: 20% increased magnitude of impales inflicted by spells.

"Impale Chance" passive nodes: 15% chance to impale on spell hit

Spell Skill Gems:

"Bone Storm" spell gem: Impale on spell hit

Impale Tool Tip

"Attack hits against impaled targets will extract the impale debuff"


Ok... so what was the point of having impale on spells skills?

Someone please educate me.

My best guess (since nobody chose to enlighten me lol) is this is for minions. Attack based minions would trigger the impale effect.

Other than that, I'm not sure why impale is present on those spells and passives.
