I've only managed to click it when standing right next to it at about 5 o'clock. I can't interact with it the way I do with other wells in the game. I've moved everything away from it, so that isn't the issue (unless the floor is interfering, I haven't touched that).

I finally replaced the Canopy Well with generic Well 2, and now it works every time.
