[3.27 HC] Grey Wind Life Stacking Consecrated Path Totems [Video]

It has been a few years since I made a new build that I felt was worth sharing. This one is my new favorite, made possible a combination of brand new uniques and a few old ones. It breezes through T16s, Pinnacle Bosses, and Delves. Feared us Done, Aul is done, and I am currently delving below 500 in HC Keepers. Don't have numbers for you since POB isn't equipped for Grey Wind yet (though I estimate, based on back of napkin math, that the current version is getting in the neighborhood of +/- 6-7M pinnacle dps. I can report after 15k hours+ in this game in hc, it's one of the most fun builds I've made to play, if you like totems.

Starts with
The 12% of max life as fire screams out to use


The problem then is no obvious 6 link. The answer is
If you used to play earthbreaker totems before they took away the support, you will understand that the support in the boots is actually worth 2 full support gems, as they buffed earthbreaker in the boots significantly when they removed it as a support gem. In addition to enabling totems, it also provides 24% more damage to start with. I chose consecrated path totems because I remember loving the playstyle--totems will teleport around chasing your enemies over a short range.


Offense:

1. Because the build will stack well over 10k life without much trouble (I'm at 11,733 currently at lvl 94) it will start with base 1h fire dps of 1560+ (at 10k life) (UPDATE: Now over 16k Life at lvl 97 with a few upgrades)

2. The rathpith/crown combo then gives over 750% increased damage. (UPDATE: Now 1200%+ inc damage)

3. Another 100%+ comes from 350+ strength and iron will.

4. Foulborn Xoph's blood boosts another 40% more with ele overload while also adding some pen, annoint forces of nature for even more pen or Finesse if you need the accuracy. It also intermittently covers enemies in ash for an extra 20% damage taken anytime they hit you. (UPDATE: currently annointing Cruel Preparation)

5. Three ordinary might of the meek jewels create tremendous value in the the area around the Scion start, particularly the life wheel but also Block, accuracy, AOE, and attack speed. (UPDATE replacing the rightmost meek with
is a huge upgrade, saving around 9 passive points)

6. A Foulborn Red Dream socketed on the left side of the tree provides even more life (Especially when combined with fire res tattoos in the area) and a touch of added chaos damage).

7. Stormblast mines are triple function, providing frenzy (and power) charges, culling strike, and increased damage taken in boss fights. You will be able to lay out up to 18 of them at the feet of non-mobile bosses. At 20 quality, each mine causes nearby enemies 4% increaed damage taken, for a total of up to 72% inc damage taken in an optimal situation.

8. Flammability is the obvious curse, nothing unusual here.

9. Offensive grafts can also be used to your taste. I am currently running Return to Dust (Uul) and Dance in the White (Tul).

10. Ascendant-Champion gives our totems Intimidate and Taunt

11. Ascndant-Hierophant provides us an extra totem.


Defense:

1. 10k+ life with bloodmagic is a good start, but it is only a start. (UPDATE at lvl 97 with modifications, now at 16k+ life)

2. For hc, we add to that 68/65 attack and spell block (using versatile combatant) (UPDATE settling for 68/62 after modifications)

3. Around 30k armour with flasks up. (Determination>Eternal Blessing helps here)

4. Molten shell on automation and a periodic 20 second vaal molten shell. (UPDATE Once you find and kill Aul, drop the Molten shell setup to have empty gloves and be crit immune)

5. Our regen is over 1.2k/second without help, and hits almost 2k/sec on consecrated ground, which is constantly being made by our totems. (UPDATE: post modification figures are 1600+ / 2600+)

6. 79 all ele res / 75 chaos (UPDATE: post modification ele rezzes are 82/81/81)

7. Build leaves space for your choice of Bloodline ascendancy. I am currently running otherwordly appendages granted by breach, which gives me 15% less phys and cold damage taken and causes enemies to take 100% more damage from my offensive grafts. Another solid choice, if you can find him, is Precursor's release from Aul, which will grant this build immunity to all elemental ailments, since Kaom's has no sockets. There may be other options I have not considered. All of them are likely to be stronger, in this build, than a Scion's ordinary fourth ascndancy. (UPDATE: I have found and killed Aul and traded for the precursor's ascendancy. HIGHLY recommend. Emptying gloves and dropping molten shell gives crit immune in addition to the ele ailment immune from chest. Just hit Delve 500 in hc and so far feels safer deeper than it did higher up with the other ascendancy.

1. Build Proper doesn't begin until lvl 62 at the earliest, when Dawnstriders can be equipped. Pick any Scion leveling build you like to get there.

2. Don't get lured in by the Foulborn Meeks, as they have too small a radius to cover everything we want. The large ordinary 50% ones appear to be best. Those are also currently only 4c or so each.

3. Down below delve 500, the totems started to die off a little faster than I like. Whenever that happens to you, if it does, respec by 5 points to take Ironwood. If you do this, then you may also decide to respec another 5 points to take devotion. Finally, if you are at ironwood, the totem 1 second taunt on summon is much stronger than most give it credit for, you may consider experimenting with it.


That's it for now. If I can get the program to work, I'll try to post a video or two. Otherwise, you'll have to take my word that the build has been extremely fun and is currently rolling through T16s and Delving down after killing Eater/Exarch and Maven with little trouble. Hope some of you try it out and enjoy it as much as I have been. I'll check back periodically and answer questions if any come up.

This looks interesting. How is clearing? Also is there SC version for pob? And how would you level this for transition?

Really wish I could get my video generator working to show you. At lvl 95 I am at 12,400 life and the clear speed feels really good. I am delving a little below 300 at the moment and don't need to stop moving while the totems and grafts clear everything in front of me. Not much feels any kind of dangerous yet.

For SC I'm honestly not sure what I would change. I suppose you could try going crit by giving up block and the lower armour wheel. That would free up 14 nodes or so to play with and you could drop Xoph's for a rare amulet. I'm not sure whether that would be an overall benefit in how it feels, since I haven't playtested it and I don't SC, but I think there is at least a question worth exploring if it interests you.

Leveling is really a matter of taste. I leveled self attack conc path, but honestly I found it a little tedious. Easiest is to play any meta attack skill and use that to 62.

As a softcore player that doesn't like dying and wanted to do delve I found your build while looking on poe.ninja, then I found this post. Just wanted to thank you for the great and cheap build, really enjoying it so far, just got to 83 and cruising in t16 and delve for now, will try to record something when I level some more and have the budget to up the damage with the awakened gems

Just updated Guide with some new tech. At lvl 97, my tree dropped
This was a huge upgrade--Slotted into the Rightmost Scion slot instead of one of the Meeks, it freed up about 9 passive points. I also upgraded my belt, catalyzed my jewelry, and traded annoint to Cruel Preparation. new gear set is:


Now sitting at a little over 16k life, with significantly improved damage. If the build felt solid before, now we are into ridiculous territory where ordinary pinnacle bosses feel trivial. Plan to try out ubers at some point, though I may suffer there from lack of practice.

UPDATE: Nearly lvl 98. Aul down and his ascendancy taken. No more ele ailments or extra crit damage. Feared down. Just hit 500 depth and the top of the hc delve ladder. Life is good.

I have only ever killed two of the ubers before. If things continue to go well, I'll head their direction sometime later. If not, perhaps one of you will. Very happy with the build right now.
