Will GGG improve the game fast enough?

Well played poe2 from the start like many of you, but finding myself stopping at level 96 or 97, having an insane build that just wipes everything out, and getting bored, this league I have levelled about 10 chars all level 93 plus, tested loads of builds and made a ton of div in the processes.

But we are still almost two months out from a new update, I stopped playing about two weeks ago and have been enjoying poe1 a little but the simple old graphics of poe1 stops me from fully enjoying the game.

Now I know poe2 is early and still loads things to be added but are they wasting to much time with updates every four months instead of updates every two months, now we all know why they are doing this in order to fit poe1 updates in without increasing the team.

So do you think they made a mistake? should they have split the teams and had a team for poe1 and a team for poe2 enabling them to push updates every two months keeping the game fresh and enjoyable and letting it go live on time?

Dec 278k people played
Mar 60k people played
April 246k people played
July 9.9k people played
Aug 353k people played (mostly down to the free weekend)
now only 20k people playing (and lets face it bet half of those are bots)

I know people who have stopped playing totally due to the very slow updates as they like many others see they are splitting the time they have between a 10 year old game and a game that's meant to be ready to go live in Dec but already they admitted that's not happening and its down to them pushing poe1 updates still without improving the number of people making the updates.

GGG you are killing poe2 before it even gets a chance to go live. seen it happen a few times in my gaming life, ARK being the biggest fail when it went life to the number of people playing when it was in beta.

POE dev cycle has been every 2 months and never will be, they were pretty clear that it would be 4months leagues with 2 months between.... Like maybe people should understand what they're buying when they get an early access game

If they're forcing me to play their stupid campaigns multiple times for every new build I want to try in every league, I really want a refund. Enough is enough. I'm here for the mapping, and I don't care if some boomer with 2,133,432,6235 hours of RPG experience thinks campaigns are the essence of RPGs. They can play their awesome campaigns all day long while I try out new builds at the endgame.

That 5-6 hours doesn't matter and honestly is your best time to make currency when you don't understand how the game works

Nah this game will never have minecraft creative mode. You can try out new builds on standard league where you have tons of leftover characters and currency to respec and reequip.

I was about to chime in with the same - that mentality is basically why people play standard league at all. They don't like making new characters.

From the perspective of the whole playerbase and new players, I think that players being able to skip the campaign might really be a bad move at the end of it. I imagine that it would inflate trade prices while also reducing the supply of lower level gear.

That being said, IMO the 3rd act is still tad bit too long. I'm not sure how long the fourth act really is, I haven't played it through enough many times, but the 3rd act generally taking longer - especially on HC - than act 1 and 2 combined, makes it feel like a major slog.

That's a good point.

My experience with new players over the last 10 years has been always the same. Even if they follow a guide, they abandon the game because it's so time-consuming that they have to read at least 100 paragraphs of text to understand just one mechanic. Instead, you could give your players the option of an endless dungeon or a bilinear atlas to level up directly on the maps, just make your players a bit stronger in the first 10 levels and let them loot their equipment with their fists, and let them learn the game by mapping rather than consuming your poorly written story. Btw, go check low level rune prices. They're selling them for 150+ exalts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm open to any counterarguments; I'm just so tired of GGG's boomer vision. They're still trying to satisfy players who had fun killing the same boss 1,000,000 times in 2025 with flashy anime builds. That's incredible to me. You can't help these people.

I can't argue with the trading part because GGG keeps it as an open market. It benefits them too because, again, the 1% mirror-tier rmt player base determines the value of everything. Isn't it hilarious to know that your gaming-time, which is also your life-time, is controlled by a no-lifer who doesn't care about you but tells that you have to spend x amount of time to get something valuable?

I don't care too much about campaign skip. 2nd playthrough is ok with twink gear. 1st one is rough unless you use one of the good leveling skills.

If they ever were to allow a skip, they could do something like this:

- At the end of the campaign you get a one-time use item that will allow a character to skip to the map device where you can run maps that will scale mobs to your level till you get to like lvl65.

- The skip item can be tradeable so that it will be of value to players who actually do want to complete the whole campaign. They can sell it to others who don't want to do it. If you're in SSF, every 2nd character can skip to the map device.

This way everyone still has to complete the campaign once. Unless you start the league late and get lucky with an early drop to afford the skip (assuming you can find someone actually selling it on regular trade since async trade is locked till Act4 on first characters).

Though if they haven't allowed it in POE1 in like 12 years, I doubt it would ever happen here.

1 "skip campaign" token per campaign finish doesn't even sound half bad.

Would mean that each league, most players run through the campaign at least once.

It might still introduce small inflation - due to fewer total hours spent in campaign - but there would at least be stuff in trade left over from campaign runs.
