UI / UX is really bad in POE 2, I hope the team is aware of this and working on it

Hello o/
I know it sounds like I'm being dramatic but I'm really not, I just want to let GGG know how bad the game UI is. And maybe you can help boosting this kind of topics. Not all elements are equal but I can't for the life of Innocence understand HOW is it possible to not have access to the support gem tab without having an actual gem to right click on in your inventory. Really bad UX. And then once you see how atrocious this menu is, you really hope this whole thing is a placeholder for something much much much better down the line. Back to UX, you don't know the game so yay you have some support gem that the game tells you work for your skill, but they're not. So you click the "show everything" button and all hell break loose, back to one of the worst UI you could imagine. I'm fully aware that a lot of people simply expect a new league mechanic, new class, new gems and new weapons but PLEASE I beg you GGG don't ship this game into 1.0 with this kind of UI. It's true people can adapt and accept shortcomings, we waited 13 years to have asynchronous trade, we'll probably wait another 10 years before auto sort button for the stash / inventory but since POE 2 is in early access, I simply hope that someone at GGG is aware of this issue and that's it will be fixed prior to 1.0 launch. thanks o/ can't wait for next league in december. The support gem menu in general is kind of bad imho
Part of the problem is with GGG's vision of not wanting to recommend you the "best in slot" for every skill, but at the same time they don't offer a good solution either since the "show all support gems" is a gigantic mess Also, support gems that don't affect certain skills even if they're "socketable" are a big problem, for example the support gem that makes skills cost less to use doesn't work with banners iirc Последняя редакция: Vyend#2601. I assume the whole thing will eventually get revamped with a patch focused just on it given how meh it looks and feels as a whole
In comparison, the controller UI is miles better both in function and how it looks. Even if they just give us the controller UI it would be a huge improvement already They have so many good artists there, I don't believe none mentioned how bad the UI is even if it's not their area Последняя редакция: iHiems#0168. " They may want to start considering a separate tab which allows to display sorted/filtered gems by their tags. That'd be more helpful since interactions are tag based, so less players would be dumbfounded when something they think would work doesn't. Add a couple of "suggested" tag options like in the skill tree to provide a base for newer players to start from. |
