Are the maps really being reworked to be smaller?

Small maps are relic from the old, diablo technicaly limited past, and simplistic randomize mechanic. Even what is there in PoE 2 in first place is pathetic and just barely tolerable because nostalgia, you could randomly generate a world nowadays each playthrough, but all you aim for is little pockets of space with teleport circle, and then decide to rework to make smaller? Like, can't people just grind one bigger map instead of 2 smaller ones? Attention span much?
I remember when a big dungeon to explore was something to dream of, not an annoying obstacle between you and quick drop of a div or whatever, all while watching a movie. The idea to make it smaller, is in my opinion, insulting and embarassing to the game, please don't do it. Последняя редакция: Rabarbar_Lichy#7553. big v small is one axis, I'd rather have each map be consistently meaningful.
I actually looked up what the largest dungeons in dungeons and dragons were, and one of the larger ones was dungeon of the mad mage which clocked in at 86 encounters across 120 rooms. So are we expecting each map to be closer to encounter scale or closer to that dungeon scale? IGN : Reamus
