0.4 "Endgame" Focus
|
Woo boy, what a letdown this was. I get that people were really hyped for Druid, and I feel sorry for them since it appears to be a combo-laden class. But wasn't this patch supposed to focus on endgame, like bigtime? The primary focus?
All they did was tweak the current rushed endless atlas system that has been in need of a full replacement since last year. As best I can tell they put no work into this except by taking a little bit of feedback post-3.1 at how underwhelming tablets were and that distilling maps was a pain. I only see tiny QoL fixes to endgame here. QoL fixes to garbage = garbage still. Also, what's with the new temple? Core concept sound cool, but the rewards are...corrupting items again? A unique staff that is worse than a blue with +5 skills and spell dmg? I just don't get it. Does anyone at GGG play their game like one of their players would? Sinking in hours only to see this as a reward. I'm casual, but play far more than any of my friends and I don't corrupt almost anything. Why would I risk burning an item I spent 50+ hours farming currency to either craft or buy it? And who would then corrupt that again with a flat 50% chance of deleting it? The .01% that make a living playing the game and posting 30s videos of them getting this godlike item for 200x the currency that the average player earns over their character's lifetime. I was expecting them to hype up this patch today and the disappointment would come next week when they release patch notes that includes 12 pages of nerfs. Instead they just came right out and showed the suck up front. Whatever there is to look forward to in 0.4 is overshadowed by how hard the ball just got dropped. Последняя редакция: FruitLord#0833. " I was hoping for more endgame too. I agree with your main point. I'll say one thing though: what they did show must have taken a ton of programming time. The complete Druid and the performance changes are both major projects. That difficulty might be invisible to people who aren't computery. Evasion-only melee character that can kill Ubers with cheap gear (SSF Rise of the Abyssal), no armor, no energy shield, 62k eHP:

I like what they showed, new league and Druid look fun. The changes they have made are all also great. It's really disappointing that they failed to deliver on the endgame overhaul though, I was really looking forward to it.
Oh well, I guess I'll just do something else for the next few months and hope 0.5 delivers. Последняя редакция: MarsAstro#7928. Время: 4 дек. 2025 г., 16:13:15

I agree about the performance changes. That is huge(assuming it works) and is a big issue with the game no matter what they do to the endgame. I'm also pretty pumped he added that this is a big thing they are continuing to work on.
There are other good changes and I'm glad they were made. But if endgame isn't changed and there isn't more campaign then I'm not sure why I'd bother logging in. Unless I was so hyped for druid that I try it out anyway, totally understand folks wanting to at least check out what they've been waiting for all year. |

People complained when leagues got pushed forward in time, so they decided to cut planned content instead of delays. So "thank" the people.

100% Druid is great but what the game really needs is the endgame fixed and way more content

Waiting for the endgame patch to play again.

" Yeah... looks amazing, combo and charged based, the worst things in poe 2. poggers. |

Agree.
I am not interest in Druid and was looking forward to the endgame change. I may just skip 0.4 and wait for 0.5. Quite dispointed for me. |

The least they could've done was add some league challenges for people to work towards, give people some incentive to bother with current endgame.
