Question about 0.4 ice nova nerf

I have been a couple months away from poe2 but got a frost chronomancer to 92 in this abyss league. No expensive gear but was clearing tier 16 maps without problems.

Checking the patch notes for 0.4:

"
Ice Nova: Cold-Infused Ice Nova explosion and Chilled Ground radius are now 4.8 metres (previously 3.2). Cold-Infused Ice Nova now Deals 15 to 22 Cold Damage at Gem level 1 (previously 13-20), scaling to 448 to 672 Cold Damage at Gem level 20 (previously 394 to 591). Cold-Infused Ice Nova now has +0.5 seconds to Cast Time.


All good until the +0.5 cast time when infused.
Ice nova being the most important skill of the build and cast speed being one of the most important stats, this seems like it will very negatively impact the play as infusions are spawning all the time.

Currently my chronomancer has 0.4 to 0.5 cast time for ice nova (depending on sands of time stage). A +0.5 increase in cast time would, on average, nearly halve the casts per second and, not only the damage increase isn't enough to compensate, that will also negatively impact the freeze build up, another key aspect of the build.


The question:
Considering the +1 sec cast time to comet is what makes it be rarely used, besides when proccing stuff. Is the build ruined for 0.4?


Seeing as the nerf happens only when ice infused, maybe a solution would be to entirely avoid generating ice infusions, if possible.

Chronomancer is the only class i have any interest, even with the temporal rift bug continuing since the beginning of early access. Maybe this change will be the end of poe2 for me lol.
