0.3 Was and will be Way Better Than 0.4

I’ve been playing Path of Exile 2 since the start, and I think many players feel the same: what keeps us playing is novelty, freedom, and the feeling of progression.
A hack’n’slash relies on one simple principle: grind, build your character, and push its limits. Why 0.3 Was Exceptional Patch 0.3 brought an incredible wave of freshness: • An improved crafting system with tons of new possibilities • New Omens, Abyssal Omens, new currencies… • A semi-deterministic craft system that encouraged build pushing and experimenting with a huge variety of setups • Exceptional bases, letting us craft absolute monsters • The new trading system, much smoother and more accessible Thanks to all that, I was ablefinally to try and kill every Uber boss of the league, and test more than four different builds, each one exploring new mechanics. And above all: the towers. Despite the complaints some people had, the towers allowed true specialization. You could farm independently from the market and create your own endgame: • Farm Ritual to get Omens, • Use those Omens to juice your maps or craft your items, • Then switch farming to Breach, Expedition, etc. The grind was genuinely satisfying. You invested time setting up your towers, optimizing them, and then enjoyed the rewards of your hard work. That’s what an ARPG is all about. And Then… 0.4 Patch 0.4, for me, is a disaster. It really feels like GGG is doing everything possible to punish players and maximize frustration: • Crafting gutted or made irrelevant ( back to gambling) • No new endgame mechanic • Maps feel useless now: nothing drops • And now they want to reduce pack size? At some point, enough is enough. Removing the towers: the biggest mistake The worst part? They didn’t even wait for the end of the league to start nerfing everything. When they removed the towers, they completely destabilized the market: • Ritual Tablets skyrocketed in price because they became ultra rare • Omens followed the same path: too rare, too expensive Result? Ritual stopped being fun. Every time we drop a tablet, the first thought is: “I should just sell it. It’s worth more than running it and getting nothing.” We’re right back to the 0.2 problem, where only the lucky or rich players could run King of the Mist. Conclusion 0.3 wasn’t perfect, but it was the best direction PoE2 has taken so far. 0.4 destroyed what made the game enjoyable: freedom, progression, fun. GGG really needs to ask themselves why players keep playing: not to be frustrated, but to dream, create, and push further. Last bumped8 дек. 2025 г., 02:53:44
