I wanted to say how good of a job you're doing, specifically about sticking to the slower gameplay and limiting the uncapped ceilings.
When you align the environment more to slow combat and trim player's infinite sustain, the game will be glorious! XP loss and 1 portal maps staying as is, is as well a good decision!
