Question about LiveStream and +gem level

I know Jonathan and Marc started talking about +gem level affixes on gear. I was in and out of the room and didnt hear it. Last league it got quite exhausting and boring that I couldn't consider a gear piece an upgrade unless it had an equivalent +gem level to what I already have, or higher.

Did they say they adjusted anything? It kills stat diversity if every applicable slot (weapons, offhand, ammy, rings?) need to have +gem or +skill level to do highest dmg.

Anything adjusted for druid and vaal league?
