Early Game Feedback

Even if i have little hope for the 0.5's endgame, I will give my opinion on the early game of poe2.
It's clearly unbalanced. Clearly so many things are wrong. I started Sorceress. No spells could clear mobs. Spark dealt less damage than the firebolt. Cold infusion are so painfull to get to make it viable early game. Ice nova made me so vulnerable from wolves or any melee that ran fast. Again, frost infusion made it better, but still so infuriating to gather. Flame wall + lightning infusion ? Yeap but takes me 5 seconds to put orb of storm and proc it, to then have a *slightly* better flame wall, that make my 0dps spark deal 0.1 dps. I genuinly dealt more damage with a no-link lunar assault, and wolf auto attack. But if damage was the only problem. It would only take me so many hours to do the campaign. Could you explain to me, where the design of any ignite dealing more damage than the best potion of your level is coming from ? Litteraly, until i had a REALLY well rolled level 10 pot, any ignite would kill me faster than i could regen, despite having some Fire Resistance. Potion are already so mandatory because any mob hit like a fucking truck... but then any ignite you take (or any dot really..) = you die. I hated Roas' in mud flats, but now i'm not so mad about them... at least, even if they chain stun you.. they 4-shot you on any char. Here ? It's either 1 or 2 hit to die. On a league start, no one will outfarm the same zone unless you are in hardcore. It kills the fun of a Arpg. I had such high expectation for Poe1's league, and it didn't meet it, YET i had such fun. I have such low expectation for poe2, yet it couldn't even graze it. And i'm litteraly spending time in hell. I'm out of this league. I wish I would be rewarded for going towards the vision of the game, Aka : Combos. But no. Mobs are too fast, hits too hard, are balanced like poe1. You shouldn't wonder atp, why every meta build, are one button builds. You make us play like poe1, force us to play like poe1, but try to balance player for a vision you impose. I sincerely hope the balance will have a good balance. And i don't want a copy of poe1. But i wish, if combos are the way you want us to play, that they wouldn't feel absolutely disgusting to play. Currently, the game feels more in line with a story based game. Made for people who will play the game once, have huge challenges in each acts, force the player to get meaningful upgrade to enjoy his time.
This feeling is also added with the unskippable speech on so many areas of the game. Which, granted, they are cool. But when you already did more than 20 times the first acts... are very painful to watch again. |
