Lag making game unplayable

At launch and all through 0.2 there were no issues with the game for me when it came to performance and lagging. Ever since 0.3 there has been lagging and outright freezing of the game. At the launch of 0.4 I was able to play with mild stuttering but as of today it is 10fps and full stutter locks. I love this game but something has changed to make it so that I can't even play it. I'm really starting to regret my investment into this game, as meager as that may be in the grand scheme of things.
