Trial of The Sekhemas is terrible

I've been complaining about it since day 1. Being melee here is terrible. Having a build that isn't very strong is terrible here. It doesn't even make sense for an ARPG at all. Why are we being gigapunished for being offscreened or slightly tapped by some splash off some little guy spitting off screen? Traps are terrible (less of a problem) but have been complained about since PoE1.
I cannot for the life of me understand why this garbage is mandatory. For the record BOTH trials are absolute and complete trash and need to be changed at least for the campaign parts where they are absolutely and utterly mandatory to progress meaningfully. It blows my mind more people don't complain about this garbage. I want to add that people who say "just put relics in that give honor resist" etc are giving a braindead take. My friends who are just not amazing #1 cannot do that on their first number of tries, AND if you need that kind of thing to make it a comfortable run in the first place it's already complete dumpster tier design to begin with. Change it. Get rid of it. Honestly just give me the lab back, at least that had a number of redeeming qualities which these AWFUL trials will never have because their base design is flawed. If they axed Gauntlet rooms from the trial these complaints would all dissapear.

I agree,
Ascending in this game is the worst arpg design i've ever experienced. They took the worst mechanics from poe 1 and reskinned them into this complete garbage. The one thing that needed to be new and special they completely screwed up |
