Plaguebearer + Astral Projection

Since the release of the 0.4 League Last of the Druids in Path of Exile 2, i just got the astral projection support gem and it is not letting me use the poison nova of the plague bearer spirit gem at my cursor, it still spreads from around the character, is there anything I am doing wrong, or is this an issue with how the two gems interact?

for further info, it is Plague Bearer with Astral Projection in the first slot, than Magnified area 1 in the second slot.

I'm also unable to get this interaction working. Shows Astral Projection as a Recommended support for the skill, yet isn't doing anything.
