Kill the Caster, Kill the Spell (Homing Effects Feedback)

Blue balls, purple balls, orange balls, brown balls — we’ve got the full rainbow. The sheer variety is impressive. The gameplay value is not.

Clutter has always been a problem in PoE (1 and 2). What the game absolutely does not need is more visual and mechanical clutter in the form of homing projectiles that keep chasing you after the caster is already dead.

That someone approved this design is genuinely baffling. I assume the intent was to “add a challenging dimension to the gameplay.”

It doesn’t. There’s nothing challenging about jogging in circles waiting for a lingering spell to time out. It’s not skill-based, it’s not engaging — it’s just wasted time.

If these homing effects exist for some internal design reason, fine. But they should immediately disappear when the monster that spawned them dies. Anything else is pure annoyance masquerading as difficulty.

I agree that it is annoying and unneeded, and that it hurts casters the most. However, you can dodge-roll through the orbs to explode them, so they stop chasing you.
