Scarred Faith notable feels underwhelming or even detrimental
|
Hello GGG,
Scarred Faith currently gives you 5% ES recoup of the mitigated physical damage per power of the hitting mob. If I break it down for each mob color : White mobs - You will never be able to recover more ES than the damager they did. Max physical mitigation is 90%, so the mobs will deal 10% damage where you only recoup 4.5% Magic mobs - Same story, they will deal 10% damage, and you will recoup 9% Rare - here it starts being good, but chances are you'll start any rare encounter with no ES. Assuming you still mitigate 90%, they will deal 10% damage and you'll recover 22.5% unique - against unique mobs, this is very good, you'll recoup 100% of damage mitigated Scarred Faith is also practically useless in areas with lots of chaos and/or elemental damage, because you only recover based on physical damage mitigation. There are some unique mobs that don't even deal any physical damage... which means one of your defensive layers is rendered useless by the notable. The results of all this is that you'll almost never be on full ES, which makes this notable feel really bad for me at the moment (I'm still low level, but I invested pretty heavily in armour for my level) Possible solutions : (1) Make it work with any armour based mitigation, so if you have armour applied to elemental and chaos, make it recoup ES from that as well. This will prevent having areas where the notable is practically useless (2) Increase the recoup % against normal and magic mobs, so that you break even if you mitigate 90%, so 11% recoup against both. The recoup % against rare and uniques is fine (3) Make it combinable with Zealot's Oath by not disabling ES regeneration. (meh) All that being said, I love this update - Thanks GGG !
