Respawn button not appearing on controller

Sometimes when dying in certain maps or areas with no respawn to hideout/checkpoint, the button is non-existant forcing you exit to character selection. Not sure if this is a controller specific issue but it has been happening consistently and usually when exiting to character selection it crashes to the launcher.
