Map access gone after Vaal

I was running a tier 2 waystone on Headland. I hadn't yet killed the boss, but I came across a Vaal Artifact and it was full so I went in to run the temple. Once I completed the temple, I was not able to run back to the entrance and get back to my map that I was running (Headland). There was no option to return to the map via a button or by running to where the entrance "normally" is at the beginning. I had to recall back to my hideout and now the map is showing as "attempted".

This was not happening before this broken patch that came out an hour ago.

(I had to reupdate and verify/validate nothing short of 6 times to get it to work)

It has happened to me on every vaal artifact I have entered. You don't get much from them anyway, so it is better to just skip all artifacts.
