One Portal Endgame
|
Once again, I’ve reached the endgame. It feels mandatory to run 6-mod maps because of the tablets, but I’m limited to just one portal. Then, a mob shows up with 2 or 3 specific modifiers that hard-counter my build, I die, and that’s it—I alt-f4. It’s frustrating how this exact same issue has made me quit from 0.1 until now. It’s a shame the devs seem to embrace this design. I wish they would reconsider, but I find it unlikely.

I agree. It is very very frustrating to up the difficulty of the map to actually be able to use 3 tablets and lose attempts because of it. I much prefer the path of exile one maps where more mods do not remove portals.
This is especially bad now in POE2 as now prefix mods all have negatives as well as the suffix mods. |

I understand the philosophy behind one portal, I respect the experiment, and I hate it.
If three tablets unlocked at 5 mods I would enjoy end game more, while still feeling a sense of risk. |

" Initially, I hated it, but I tried to adapt to the idea and failed miserably. I absolutely loathe this concept of 'punishing' the player through systems they designed themselves. If you want to make a Soulslike, go ahead—put one mob on the screen, and then you can punish me if I die. But throwing a bunch of mobs with random mods that can completely brick a build and calling it 'meaningful combat' is just a lie. |

" Yeah, so many of their design choices are antithetical to a fun game. And if there is enough player numbers dropping they cave on them and rework them. But then, as surely as the amen at the end of a prayer, they will bring it back in some underhanded way the next season. The one portal not being automatic anymore, but instead tied to tablets, so eventually you have the exact same game play experience people hated. Being starved of waystones, so they caved and made it so that a successful map gave you one. Removed that again, now only the big bosses give you one and the rest of the map not. So your are forced again to fully spec into waystones on the atlas tree. Removing real choice People absolutely hated that "crafting" felt like playing slots with horrible odds on a minimum wage. So they added some deterministic crafting. This season, homo slams are gone, abyss is much rarer, and we are back to the slot machine. Unfortunately they do not want to budge on their philosophy, even if it doesn't stand the test of player enjoyment. Последняя редакция: Slart1bartfast#0332. Время: 16 дек. 2025 г., 14:02:10

" I agree 100%. Having T15 maps failing to drop is an absolute joke... I really hope this league serves as a lesson for them, because everyone was happy last league. The only real major issue was the performance, which was terrible; otherwise, it was a huge step in the right direction. This one, however, feels like a massive step backward to me: tons of bugs, crashes, much longer loading times... The only positive thing I can say it contributed to the game's evolution was specifically the FPS in maps—at least when the textures aren't glitching out. |
