Have devs actually tried to run the Temple?

Here is my experience coming from end of campaign
1) Wanted to add more rooms before the run, but the game did not let me do that, I did another set of 6 and could not add more rooms 2) had to run the temple, but my inventory was full soon, so I walked to the exit to reach the stash. The temple was marked as completed, lost the run and rooms 3) Now I was able to add rooms or run temple without adding rooms Seriously, you add large temple with potentially lots of loot and nobody was even considering players would want to get loot out of the Temple mid run? And why do I have to run the temple before adding more rooms? And seriously, during the campaign, one abyssal coffer feels more rewarding then a Temple run. You get lots of rares, but thats it. You cant even take that exalted or from the bench and have to spend it. Comparing to Abyssal depths, where you could get valuable omens even during leveling.. They tried, but realized there's no loot so they stopped doing it.

Yep, I have no idea how this mechanic actually ended up being the released version. 100% it was not tested past a few basic iterations probably performance tests and some basic campaign runs.
The most recent update that disabled portaling to the entrance to make travel a bit less tedious was so absurd. Out of touch decision especially because they didnt supplement that change with extra checkpoints to compensate. I could care less about the design into the Atziri boss because the base mechanic is so terrible. |

Yeah the only explanation for this terrible mechanic is that the devs hated designing it so much that they gave up and refuse to improve it rofllllllllll

It literally takes ONE run of the temple mechanic when you reach maps to see how tedious it is and how much friction there is, especially when you want to leave and re-enter the temple. There is absolutetly no way anyone tested it.

re-entering mechanics need to change, also room management. It is not cool having to run the temple, or losing rooms that are not placed
also, why do these basic crafting benches exist? why not just drop the orb? Looks like devs wasting time on nonsense.. btw, in my very first temple, around lvl 9, I got 5 exalted benches, but did not have single rare item nor regal orb yet. Very cool:) IGN: Eric_Lindros

It's REALLY hard to evaluate / QA something that you make yourself, you're just too deep in it. I do wonder if being so deeply involved in the actual coding work of the league mechanic made it harder to evaluate it as a "fresh" player (what we all were the first time we engaged with it) resulting in many of the problems that we are seeing now that usually get caught by him / the exec team, but didn't this time.
