Bug: No Reward for Travelling Merchant Event in Khari Crossing

I completed the Travelling Merchant event in The Khari Crossing during the interlude, but I did not get a free item reward. The event is marked off with an X in the map even though I got nothing. When I initially talked to Torbik, I got a blank dialog box, and when I click on the "Introduction" dialog option I also get the same blank box, so I am sure there is a bug here. Please fix this (and hopefully provide a way for people suffering from this bug to still get the reward!)
