feed back after 500 hrs (5k hrs in poe1)

This will not be a complete list, just a smattering of some of my thoughts.

Most of my issues come from the design choices and how locked in builds feel.

Things I love from POE1 that are missing from POE2:

1. Build flexibility. There is very little cross over representation between attack and spell builds. Are you playing a spell gem? you're probably on a spell ascendancy. likewise for attack gems, you're probably on an attack ascendancy. The weapon locking is just so counter to my usual POE experience of any class doing any gem.

2. Damaging Ailment identity. All the ailments have a certain kind of feel in poe1, but in poe2 they all feel the same. (to be honest, many of the spells feel the same, what's really the difference between all the monk spells, really?) In poe1 poison has a certain feel, ignite has a certain feel. bleed feels different from poison and vice a versa. not so in POE2, everything just feels and 'looks' the same.

3. gem UI/socket UI/Supports/etc. My god, while having gems not locked to gear is pretty good, the trade of of the gem carving UI is just AWFUL. why when I carve a gem from my stash page does it close my stash? hoooly.... I dread interacting with gems in any fashion in poe2.

4. blink spells. These are just better than dodge roll, and give so much character to your ... character.

5. map selection. rolling up 10 of my favorite juicy map and running them back to back to back is soooo excellent. This must be introduced into POE2. I actually am a fan of the infinite atlas, they just need to ditch waystones for maps. Leave the infinite atlas, just drop maps instead of waystones. that way I can roll up my favorite, and just input it into the atlas nodes in which ever direction I want to go to gain access to pinnacle content. Keep the biomes or whatever on the node, it doesn't matter.

6. defensive options. Just more defensive options available in poe1. they are improving this quickly in poe2, I hope it keeps improving.

Things poe2 has that I wish POE1 had:
1. the controller support while present in poe1 is just not nearly as smooth.


Things that POE2 has that I wish it didn't have:
1. Terrible ascendancy procurement pattern. I thought I hated lab, but I'd give anything for any change to how you receive ascendancy points.
