Why does the map become empty when I die to map boss?

Why does the map become empty when I die to map boss? I haven't played poe 2 for about 6 months, but I don't remember anything like that being in this game. Is this a new thing, a bug or someone should be fired?

AHA... J just died on map boss in corrupted nexus and because of that I lost nexus. Now I have to find another one for atlas mission... This is stupid as...

Because no fun allowed; that's GGG's motto for POE 2.

One of the worst thing they did with POE 2 is this "pseudo hardcore"/rogue lite approach. You don't lose your char when you die, but you do lose everything else. FFs, GGG, hardcore will never be mainstream, let the weiros have their fun and let us enjoy ours.

POE 1 has a lot of issues, but for some reason GGG wants to "fix" what isn't broken.

this is kinda tradeoff for having extra portals (before there was always 1 try).
The idea was: now you can try boss few times, yet the map still lost.
In reality: clear map, then kill boss. Bit tedious.

That's the price for rushing to the boss/ignoring the map and failing. It's not too bad tbh...just kill the boss at the end when you're done with the map content.

On a side note, if you kill boss before doing any other content in the map, it reveals everything in the minimap, it's a risk to take but only do it if you know you won't die, otherwise simply don't do that.
