Chaos Oracle help

I'm making an Oracle ED/C Dark Effigy Totem build and I've been trying to balance my skill tree around Skill Effect Duration, Chaos damage, Mana Regen with MoM, and not using all 100 points.

The first most important thing is Skill Effect Duration because I think(?) it will be good for the DoTs, Poison(s), Dark Effigy Totem length. I think it's will what my build feel so smooth to play.

The second is definitely the 50% Chance to fire 2 Additional Projectiles because I'll also be running the 'Chaos Bolt' implicit spell from wands.

I'm experimenting with a similar build. I'm pretty sure the extra projectile nodes don't work with dark effigy. In the description on the skill, it says the projectile count cannot be modified.

I also noticed that in end game, most of my single target damage is coming from dark effigy.

Only two ways I can see to scale effigy damage is increasing limit or by crit.

On oracle, you can have 4 totems (ascendancy point, +1 on focus and overabundance support gem). But running 4 totems requires some investment in skill duration to avoid mana issues.

I think crit scaling (especially with Oracle critical ascendancy) will be better but I haven't figured out how to scale both crit damage and crit chance without crazy good gear.
