Death to map boss clears all enemies/activities from map

Has happened to me multiple times now.. If I go to the map boss before clearing everything else in a map and die to that boss; I respawn with the map being cleared of everything and all the fog has returned. This ruins runs, especially if it's an Abyssal Overrun map!

Truly? I never experienced this back during 0.3.. what a horrible mechanic.
