My experience with the league mechanic

I did the mechanic all throughout the campaign. The layout feels like a build your own shit tier layout from lvl 1 to map tier 16s. Rewards were decent enough to make up for this in act 1/2 as you got exalt slams and jewelers orbs which you need badly for your first character.
Got to mapping and continued doing the mechanic, always placing all rooms and always full clearing. The rewards fell off a cliff as you get regular exalts and lesser jewelers and vaal orbs. Low tier currency that you can easily farm 10x of just by mapping in the same time investment. So i did a bunch of maps, placed tiles and did several temples always placing all the rooms full clearing and eventually pathed my way up to the "mid boss" guy architect's chamber. I killed him and it deleted my entire temple for w/e reason. I don't recall seeing this console where you could place rooms, im guessing because it was just jammed into one of the corners of the room and i didn't see it or know about it. This put me off as it deleted all the progress i made and i've skipped the mechanic essentially since then. I then recently thought, okay, so i just want to kill atziri, i'm just going to path to her, ignore these side rooms and i'm not going to architect again. I finally path to her just a straight shot and it says i need the royal access room. I did another 6 maps to get more pieces, nope, still don't get royal access room... so now i have a temple path'd to atziri but i can't fight her. After scouring for info in game, it says you have to kill the architect to get the royal access chamber via the console. First thought in my head is that makes no sense, the last time i killed him it deleted my temple I was like ok, i just want to kill atziri once, i'll kill the mid guy again, i guess we'll see what happens, this time im looking for a console after i kill him. Killed him, found the console in a corner of the room, went to place the access room and it only lets you put it in preset locations, so now you have to path to that too, and you can't fight atziri on this run, which means you gotta run more maps first ran another 6 maps, and it again deleted a bunch of my temple pathing that i have been putting down (not100% of it like it did the first time, but several pathing tiles) . so now i have to repath what just got deleted as well as path to the new access chamber and then boss room. i did more maps, path'd to the access chamber and the boss, and the mini boss as well coincidently. it won't let me access either the mini boss, atziri, or the access chamber, they want me to complete the "temple" first, yet i have no other connected rooms to any of my pathing pieces. there is only one more room to the side of the access chambers, and connected to it, but i can't get to that until i get access to the chambers first, so it makes no sense. it wants me to complete the temple i have setup before doing anything, but doesn't let me complete it either as the rooms are blocked off, like wth. i guess i have to do another 12-18 maps to path to the room behind the access chambers as well... and then i'll probably have more hoops to jump through... i may or may not do this, getting super irritated at this trash mechanic.. trash layouts, trash rewards, convulted as hell, takes away from your mapping as you have to zone in and out of this "setup" room and then the temple itself... i'll probably just count it as an extra pack of mobs each map i do and that's it... sucks i didn't get to fight her even once at this point i've done well over a hundred maps with the vaal temple objective, placed tiles, ran the temples and still haven't even got to do a boss fight, or got anything beyond a couple tier 1 regular exalted orbs. TLDR: rewards for tier 15 mapping are still early act 1-2 campaign rewards, "map" layout is dogwater, it interrupts your mapping to place 0-2 pathing tiles, you have to enter the temple and leave the temple to start to collect the next set of pieces, you have to repeat this many times to path to the boss, even when you do path to the boss you can't do it, killing the mid boss that is required to get to a special room to access atziri arbitrarily deletes your temple that you spent hours setting up, also places that room in preset locations in corners or sides of the map, so you have to repath to that plus anything that got deleted arbitrarily plus repath to boss... like how did even 1 person play this and think "yah, seems good, ready for release" and this isn't even touching on the convolutedness of tiering of the rooms. there's a million ways this could have been done WAY better... how about remove the placement of rooms and for each mechanic you encounter in a map, drop a "complete" layout. Tier of rooms will be based off of tier of zone the item dropped from, i.e. Tier 1-5map = tier 1 rooms, t11-15 maps = Tier 3 all rooms, however not all are connected. So sometimes you get a boss fight one, sometimes you get a double corrupt one, sometimes you get ones with currency etc. When you're lucky it's fully linked and you can get all the rewards. When you hover over, or link the item, it shows which rooms are connected and which are not. Then you just plop the "temple" item in your map device to go to the temple.
