Druid build need help

Hello hope you all had a good Xmas?

I am returning to the game and decided to try the Druid out I have a talisman and a electric staff, I am trying to get herald of ice and thunder to work but no luck, where I am at the moment if I put the talisman as my primary weapon the thunder and Ice proc but then I have to be in bear/wolf etc form and can’t seem to use any other skills that are not tied to changing form, I don’t like playing in near or wolf form for long periods so basically I am asking should I throw this toon away and start another like a monk or huntress as I like the ice and thunder builds I come up with. I know I can go use a quarter staff with the Druid but I really wanted to try keep it a magic build. It’s the one thing that made me stop playing was the constant grind on acts and it’s starting to feel that way again if this was a waste of time as the starting weapon for the Druid I am sure was the electric staff

Ignore post just seen you can only use them with the talisman staff does not work, shame as the form changing sucks for me visually
