Someone please explain dodge roll code to me

what keeps on happening is: I aim my mouse in a direction, wasd in the same direction, press dodge roll and it will roll in the opposite direction or bug out pinball style for no apparent reason.

Do you play WASD?
I get this too, though not just with Dodge Roll, but any orintation effect (Shooting a projectile, etc), generally with quick snap moves (Dodgerolls, dashes, etc). I don't just see this happen in PoE2, but PoE 1 as well, I assume it has a lot to do with the netcode struggling to keep up with rapid motion, but I've never really been able to pin down the cause directly. It doens't feel related to lag exactly, as I get it happening during smooth and choppy play.
Ye it is for sure not lag. It happens on fully stable 20 ping just as much as when I am put on gateway that I did not want and the server takes a vacation.

Some kind of netcode issue I assume, since it will also desync from everything you mentioned and resync with rapid frequency, shaking my character around like crazy for no apparent reason.
I figure it's some kind of incorrect/bugged priority code for client/server packets, client says one thing sever says something else, you get rubber banded/de-synced till the client catches up (looks like lag). This gets even worse with sprint being on dodge roll, as it seems to prioritize sprinting over dodge rolling.


Also get the same issues with no wasd, point to click.
