Bonded Idol Passive on Scepter - 2 Primate vs Primate+Bear

Using the Keystone Lord of the Wilds, I recently upgraded from a single socket scepter to a double socket scepter. All sockets are filled with a Primate Idol. This means my Increased Damage while Shapeshifted went from 40% to 80%. However, when i swap from one scepter to the other, my Maul attack DPS(for example) goes from something like 75k to 78k. I know i must be misunderstanding the order of operations here. Is it more beneficial to use a different idol in my second scepter socket? Would a Primate(increased damage)+Bear(Increased attack damage) benefit greater? Any guidance is appreciated!

All "increased" damage is additive. So if you have 100 base damage and 200% increased damage, you deal 300 damage. Adding another +40% increased damage wont result in 300 x 1,4 = 420 damage, but that 40% will be added to the pool of 200% increased damage (going to 240%) for total 100 x 3,4 = 340 damage.

In your case, if you dont play with minions, i would chose 2x primate as it uses general damage while bear works only for attacks.
