Amanamu's Gaze Functioning Improperly

The tooltip for Amanamu's Gaze says "All other modifiers to movement speed EXCEPT FOR SPRINTING do not apply." However, after socketing the item, which is currently providing +33% movespeed according to the character screen, my sprint is visibly slower than my regular walking. This implies to me that the item is actually negating all other modifiers to move speed INCLUDING sprint.
