Skill speed rune on crossbow or attack speed rune?

Skill speed gives 8%

Attack speed gives 5%

I thought skill speed and attack speed were like the same thing but noticed the 8% skill speed runes don’t change my reload or attacks per second on my weapon base the same as the attack speed runes.

Which rune is better to use for the purposes of attacks per second? Thanks

Also does skill speed also effect reload speed or no?

If it helps my base weapons attacks per second is 2.07 and reload speed is .6 with no runes in

I figured the skill speed runes would be a soft upgrade but don’t know if they actually are?

If skill speed doesn’t effect reload speed I don’t think it’s an upgrade 🤷‍♂️

id go with attack speed as it incresses atack speed of the crossbow and the reload speed to the bolt skills.

So skill speed is just a seperate attack speed mod that doesn’t effect reload?

Attack speed and skill speed do the same thing they are just applied in different places.

Attack speed effects all your attack and shows the changes on your weapon.

Skill speed doesn't update your weapon instead it multiplies the attack speed of your skill gems. The % of base speed number.

Attack speed and skill speed aren't additive with each other they are multiplicative so you want to try and balance them out if you want max attack speed.

So if a skill has 425% attack speed modifier and I have 50% skill speed bonus does it go to

637.5%?

I seem to understand correctly if so, if not I’m not sure

Yes if a skill has 425% of base for attack speed than 50% skill speed would make it 637.5.

Skill speed does also speed up reload of your skills, you can check in the ammunition tab of the skill.

Between the two socketable I think the skill sped one wins out easily.
8% over 5% is pretty big and I will also affect any non attack skills you use.

I see the trade off being that my base attack speed will be 2.07 instead of 2.5 and my reload will be .6 instead of .52.

The reload isn’t a big deal but losing that .43 attack speed base could be.
