is anyone having performene problems in high density fights?

the game runs fine until I open one of the chests that spawn like 10 packs, and then freezes until I died.

my system is:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 (16) @ 5.30 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600
RAM: 32GiB

which is WELL and beyond the requirements listed. in any case the game shouldn't freeze with these specs on lowest settings.

any insight or help would be appriciated.

Have you tried lowering your graphics settings and re-testing?

If it freezes from opening a strongbox - which isn't even that many monsters really - it sounds like a slowdown in loading assets specific to those monsters.

Have you tried switching to Vulkan? That could help.

Also reducing texture quality can help.

Could be sound processing issues too. For that, you could go to the sound settings and decrease the max amount of sound channels to medium or low.

Your problems sound like they are load-related. Try deleting the shader cache and re-building it.

Aside from that most of the high-density fight problems I have are always the same - lots of explosions, and ground effects make everything grind to a halt, and on-death effects - especially during an abyss or for some reason, Karui mobs tend to be very un-optimized.

Using a gloom-shrine tends to make 99% of my performance issues disappear so I have a sneaking suspicion that a large part of our suffering is contributed to by on-death-animations.

Playing walking calamity with herald of ash and with dynamic culling on I can go from a game that looks great at 3440x1440p to being able to count the pixels on my screen during a Ritual or Abyss pop or if I'm fighting the molten smith guy in the Vaal Temple and there's lots of shit going on in the room.

Using a 5800X3D and a 7800XT, which runs the game like a dream in every other scenario.
