Azcapa’s Medallion

Does anyone know how to increase the drop chance for Azcapa’s Medallion in the Architect’s Chamber? I finally started running the Temple, and today I spent the whole day trying to increase my medallion capacity to the max (6).

I’ve killed the Architect around ~20 times, but I only managed to gain one extra slot. Is that normal RNG, or am I doing something wrong?

Also, I’ve read a few posts saying that Locks no longer drop from the Spymaster, so you can’t prevent the Temple from destabilizing anymore. Is it still possible to build a functional Temple at all, or am I just wasting my time?
