HCSSF - No Gear Campaign Challenge - it is possible!
|
First off, I didn't complete the challenge - I just saw a great video of someone who did and I thought it was pretty impressive and worth sharing:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7lfUO7qiF4 Not only does this guy do the whole campaign + a map in hcssf without ever using any gear, he does it using Acolyte of Chayula, and melee skills - two things I see complaints about popping up all of the time on this forum about being bad or some flavour of "unviable". Let this video lend some support to the idea that it is indeed possible to 'get gud' at this game lol. Последняя редакция: karsey#2995. Because 1 guy did it, doesn't mean everyone wants to do it.
I can smoke 2 packs of cigarettes in one day. Do you wanna follow me? |

I'm not suggesting that everyone should want to do a no-gear hcssf run.
But I did want to showcase what's possible because: 1. I thought it was pretty impressive! 2. I've seen the sentiments behind the idea of "can't" get conflated with "won't" quite often around this forum regarding some of the aspects within the video, specifically when it comes to discussing anything around melee, hcssf, Acolyte of Chayula, tree/gear power dynamics, some skills "viability", etc. So it's nice to have some tangible evidence to hold up against the "can't" sentiments. Sometimes people try things on their own and fail, or for other reasons assume that something is impossible or not worth pursuing further. An extreme video challenge like this can be reassuring that there is such a thing as say, non-meta success in hcssf that can be realistically achieved. Everyone has their own goals so you don't know what they might take away from it. The idea of "won't", or in other words, preference, is perfectly acceptable. Nothing about this game is meant to be for everyone, let alone a niche hcssf challenge lol. I mostly just thought it was neat. |

" Don't get me wrong. It is neat that someone did it. What would not be neat is GGG getting the feeling that the game should be even more hardcore. Also, my fun is watching a guy do some pretty hard stuff on Diablo II, so who am I to complain... But what I want to show you is there is an other side where i see a lot of people struggling with the game. And boy, I bet to you that when GGG brings on the achievements on Steam we will see a lot of odd stuff, like you see with the numbers on PoE 1. Stuff like not even 50% of players being able to kill Brutus. |
